Problem: This publicly traded pharmaceutical company had secured outside program management services to oversee the development and construction of the firm's headquarters R&D and cGMP manufacturing facility and wanted to ensure that highly technical aspects of the development project were considered appropriately to mitigate the potential risk of cost and schedule overruns.

Solution: Advancis hired Pat Larrabee to review the development plan and schedule produced by the nationally recognized program management firm. With her input, key considerations such as budgets for process design and process equipment, as well as ample time and resources devoted to facility validation were included in the overall project plan as early in the overall process as possible.
